Considering a job in the south but I live in the north. Everyone warns me about Deerfoot. Is it actually that bad or is it Calgary complaining?

It is bad. Budget 45 to 60 minutes north to south at peak.

Southbound in the morning, northbound in the evening. Plan around it if you can.
